(IIP) - The capital of Himachal Pradesh lies in the northwest Himalayas. Shimla is robed in lush green woods of oak and pine, fur and rhododendron, spreads across 12km. It is an appropriate site for diversity of adventure sports such as Skiing, Trekking, Fishing and golfing. 
Shimla derives its name from goddess 'Shayamla Devi', which is another manifestation of Goddess Kali. It was the summer capital of British Regime in 1864. In 1903 a rail line was constructed between Kalka and Shimla. The Colonial patrimony can be perceived in its colossal aged buildings, the imperial Viceregal Lodge, bewitching iron lampposts and Anglo-Saxon names. Shimla also called the queen of hills is embellished with a picturesque location, orchards, waterfalls, green pastures and snow-capped peaks.

Annandale Annandale
2-km below the Ridge in Shimla, gives picturesque scenery of ceaseless slopes above. 

Chadwick Fall
7-km west of the ridge from Shimla are the Chadwick Falls, which was once the site of a 67-m aquatic phenomenon. It is the most attractive tourist spot.

Christ Church And St Michael'S Cathedral
The second oldest church in northern India was steered by Colonel JT Boileau in 1844 is the most conspicuous edifice on the Mall Road. Colonel Dumbleton donated the clock in 1860 to the church.

Churdhar Sanctuary
A splendid structure of Lord Shiva crowns the Chur Peak from where the sanctuary got its name. The sanctuary is abode to the large number of kaleidoscopic and nimble Monals in the contiguous forests.

Gurkha Castles
The ruins of Gurkha castles in Solan, Sirmour, Bilaspur and Shimla regions takes us to the life of by gone era and time under the Gurkha regime. It doesn't fail to procreate interest in the tourist.

The Hall was the erstwhile domicile of British Commander in Chief and was converted into a hotel by the Himachal Tourism. The White flower hall is located in Chharabra 13-km from Shimla.
